'Bibbit' is a concept for Samsung's Eco-Packaging initiative that involves reusing their cardboard television packaging to create a new product.

With almost everyone working from home currently, Bibbit the DIY laptop stand would be a very helpful addition to the work space.

Easy to create, this design doesn’t require any form of adhesive and can be taken apart and stored flat when not needed. Consisting of 7 pieces, the top and bottom panels are held in place by 4 sliding side panels. The narrow front panel is sandwiched between the top and bottom panels, creating vertical tabs on top surface that prevent the laptop from sliding off. The back is open for air circulation, also giving access to a shelf where chargers or headphones can be kept.

Bibbit has many advantages - using this stand on a work table not only takes pressure off the wrists while typing, it also gives the forearms a comfortable resting place.

On the other hand, while lounging in bed or on the sofa, each one of us have experienced the inconvenience and discomfort of the ‘burning leg syndrome’, where our over worked machines resting on our laps, are screaming for cool air, fans running at full capacity, slowly searing our skin in the process.

Not only will Bibbit keep your laptop cool by keeping it above the blankets, it will definitely make binge watching movies much more comfortable for you. The option of adding slits on the top face of the design will enable an even greater circulation of air, aiding the gap on the side walls that provide cooling for laptops with a ‘side throw’.

The joints in the design are such that they are locked in two directions including ‘up and down’ and one can happily lift the stand without fear of it collapsing, using the handles on either side.
